Addiction has a way of shrinking our identity until it feels like it’s the only thing people see, and sometimes the only thing we see in ourselves.
This week, we asked a harder question than it sounds:
Who am I without addiction?
For many people, this question brings discomfort. Some realize they hadn’t thought about themselves apart from their struggle in a very long time. Others feel grief for parts of themselves that feel lost or buried.
But there's always something else in the room: possibility.
You are not just your worst moments. You are not just what you’re trying to quit or escape. There is more to you than what hurts.
Reflection
Underneath the layers of coping, habits, and survival, there is still a whole person. That person hasn’t disappeared. They’ve been waiting.
This Week’s Practice
Do one small thing that reflects the person you want to become, not the habit you’re leaving behind. It could be a walk, writing something down, or returning to something you used to love.
