Session 9: What situations make me feel out of control?

There are moments when life speeds up and something inside us shuts down.
The room feels louder. The pressure rises. Thoughts scatter. Control feels out of reach, and instinct starts whispering that escape would be easier than staying present.
This session focused on those moments.
Not the dramatic ones we prepare for, but the everyday situations that quietly make us feel unsteady. Conflict. Uncertainty. Being overwhelmed. Feeling watched. Feeling trapped. Feeling responsible for too much at once.
When control slips away, old habits often feel tempting, not because we want them, but because they promise relief.
The work here is not about controlling life. It is about recognizing when we are reaching our limits and responding with care instead of panic.
Reflection
Feeling out of control does not mean you are weak. It means something important is asking for your attention.
This Week’s Practice
Notice one situation this week that makes your body tense or your thoughts race. When it happens, pause and ground yourself physically. Put your feet on the floor, take a slow breath and remind yourself that this moment will pass.
Staying present is sometimes the strongest response available.
